Well, it was not hard to get in on a reservation. First week in August seemed to be perfect. There are 5 LARGE RV sites out in the open. We had good weather and good neighbors. Base is small with an adequate Commissary/Exchange, gas station, galley, movie theater(free). Enjoyed watching the wild turkeys in the morning and the fox at night. Very quiet and comfortable.
Since we bike and walk, we enjoyed touring the base and imagining how it was in its hayday!
If you are here to sight see, this is a good place to park the rig. There is not a lot to do on base. The galley meals were fantastic if you don't want to cook..
