On May 1, 2012 the new Recreational Access Policy was presented to us and I would like to pass on some information. DOD cardholders are now authorized to surface recreat on most of the station. There are only a few areas that will remain off limits. The campgound that has W/E is close but the other two campgound areas are open, dry camping.

I visited the New Boston website and found that a Safety Briefing is required prior to being allowed to camp. An outdated Safety Briefing Schedule was attached to a letter from that installation. I sent an e-mail to the contact listed on the website asking about a briefing schedule for the coming summer.

In less than 3 hours I received a reply with an attached Slide Show Safety Briefing, a Briefing Statement I have to sign and present when I actually visit the site, and a pre-signed Pass. The reply also stated I had to present vehicle registration and proof of vehicle insurance when I arrive.

Now that is what I call service.
