Ft Monroe "The Colonies" Campground

Does anyone know if the final shut-down date is established for Ft Monroe? ...and if so, will the shut-down date for "The Colonies" campground be in the same time period?

We will be in that area in Fall 2010 and are hoping to be able to stay there one last time before it is gone!!! I have been hoping the NPS might pick it up and keep it in operation along with historical sites on the old fort.

As no one apparently had the answer to my question, I emailed The Colonies as we are planning to be in that area in Sep or Oct 2010. Following is the reply I received on the question of BRAC closure dates:

"As of this date the information we have been given, This particular facility (ODR) will close 1 August, 2011. The post itself is scheduled for closure 15 September, 2011."
