Travel 101 in Oregon and California frequently in a 40 foot with toed. Few area's you have to drive slow to navigate the corners but have never had a problem. Roads are all 20 foot with clearance on the sides. Agree with all the other posts it is a beautiful drive. Would avoid traveling during any storms because of the wind. Fog may occasionaly be a hassel but normally will lift by the early afternoon.
There has been times we encoutered snow but it is light and did not stop us.
If you like German food plan a stop North of Gold Beach, OR at Honey Bear RV Park. They have there own factory on site where the food is processed. Small store but has various imported German delacacies and all of the meats produced on site.

Hope you let us know how your trip went. When I read your post, all I could think about was, 'mud' will be their problem, but actually even mud isn't bad as this area is so use to the rain, it doesn't sit for long. But for those thinking of coming to Washington/Oregon, remember to plan for muddy shoes, bring games and videos for those rainy days, and enjoy the sweet smells and sounds.

Just make sure you stay on 101 instead of 1! We missed the sign in Southern CA. on Hwy 1 that prohibits our 45' motorhome from traveling on Hwy 1.....spend 70 harrowing miles of hairpin turns and no way off! Thank goodness we were going north as the trip south probably would have sent us rolling down the cliffs to the ocean! We were finally able to get off and find 101! A lesson learned.

We, also missed the sign in So. CA and took Hwy 1 in our 45'! Same story....scary and no way off! Check road restrictions online before getting there! It's easy to miss the signs! We also didn't see the signs going south around Lake Tahoe's west side....twisty, turny, not meant for big rigs, especially towing a trailer! Plan, plan, plan ahead of time!
