This place is as good as its cracked up to be. I really couldn't add much to the positives below. We were too busy exploring the area to get there this time (oh yes, we'll be back) but I bet there is a pool at the fitness center. If I wanted to pick nits I could say the wifi at a lakeside pull-through was hit and miss good. But then I pretty much had the same experience at the community center and there is a good Verizon signal so no problem for us. And, a washing machine was broken for at least 10 days but since laundry is free I can't really complain about that.

One of the best military campgrounds we have stayed in. The staff is super nice and helpful. Plenty of wildlife to watch. The place is well kept and clean. Everything is in good working order. Not really a whole lot of noise considering it's a military base. Close to the commissary and NEX. Diesel available on base. Doesn't look like any homesteaders that I could tell.

Eagle Hammock is a really nice facility! The staff was great. The facilities were super clean. We had a lakefront pull-through that looked to be nearly brand new. And although the lakefront pull-throughs are super nice and certainly first-class, we feel like next time we might prefer one of the lakefront back-ins because they seem to have much better protection from the afternoon sun. We were not able to use the camp WIFI. We found we couldn't connect to it even though it appeared to be available and working with plenty of signal. Hey, if it worked, it would be the first working WIFI we have found so far this year, lol...thus the 4 on Amenities. Otherwise, this place is highly recommended as one of the nicest MWR facilities we have ever visited.

This was our first military park and we had no idea it was so highly rated. It deserves every bit of it. If this place had a pool it would be all 5's. Staff was friendly and helpful. Other campers were welcoming and cheerful. We had a great time here.

Very nice park. Only stayed one night. Easy access off I95. Directions are confusing. Used the ones posted on this website, and used GPS also, and we had to turn around and back track. Probably easier now that we have been there, but do your homework. Only the main gate is open on weekends. The staggered barriers look intimidating, but they are spaced out for the 53 foot tractor and trailers at the main gate. We have a 40 ft FW and had no problems. Nice concrete pad, well light park, large lake, and everything was very clean. Park hosts were awesome. Definitely recommend this park.

It has been a few years since we were last at this campground. We thought it was great then but it is even better now. Lots more sites have been added. Lots more pull throughs with lake front views. Excellent customer service both on the phone making reservation and in person when we arrived. It was great to have a concrete site. Really helped keep the dirt down in the motorhome. Excellent Verizon phone coverage. Entered through the Franklin gate and exited through the Stimson gate on the weekend. The Stimson gate barriers appeared difficult but were actually positioned perfectly for our 40 foot Class A with Ford F-150 in tow. We definitely recommend this campground.

Lovely park. Spotless, wide spaces, beautiful grounds. Facilities (laundry, shower, toilets) spotless. Camp host - awesome. Reservations - awesome. About 5 easy miles off 95. This is the nicest FamCamp we have stayed at so far. We’re only here one night but will be back when we are in the area. Perhaps, the rest of the FamCamp family should take lessons from this place.

A great park in a small town...COVID has the base and many of its recreational facilities in a reduced status. The park is clean, well maintained, quiet, easy to get in and out of. The base does require a military id for access of ANYONE under the age of 16. This park is adding at least 10 more sites by the lake, so expansion is in progress.

Great park and very friendly. Free laundry a real plus. There were a few what looked like full time families and lots of empty sites due to COVID. Only drawback and reason for not all fives - distance in height of concrete pads and road surface. Some on only an inch or so but many, like the one we had, was nearly four inches. They need to slope up the road surface to the pads. Not sure because it was a Saturday so no one to talk with, but it looks like they may be adding additional sites. That would be a plus.

Will be going to our favorite Military RV Park; EAGLE HAMMOCK and now it will be open. Plan on touring Tybee Island and look for a place to buy. The staff we talk to is Top Notch and hope to meet some of our friends we have seen for the last 20 years at this RV Park. Hope the Community Building will be open and would be nice to have some potlucks and games. Look forward to meeting friends again!

Very clean, spacious sites. Free washer & dryers. Whole lot of active military on sites, still had fifteen open sites. Would definitely recommend staying here, one of the best RV campgrounds we’ve stayed at.

Outstanding facility. Easy to get reservations (1-800-NAVYBED), nice price $20. Full hook ups. Nice, helpful host both times I stayed. Cut stay by one day and received refund for that day. Bathrooms, clubhouse, laundry all fine. A little out of the way on base, but a nice base beautiful area. Wish all famcamps were this good. I think I've used this campground 3-4 times over the last 4 yrs while RVing and it consistently is a good operation.

Been quite a while since we have been here and staying for a few weeks and the hosts are fabulous. New furniture in the clubhouse and new stove and fridge and great lawn furniture to use. Some folks have been here for years and the units are not looking good and some vehicles are not being used but sitting on their sites. Many military are now living here and children are running willy-nilly and I almost got run over by a bicycle on the pavement to the clubhouse as the child was looking backwards not forward. I came out of the clubhouse after we arrived and small children were whacking each other with plastic baseball bats and a little boy was crying and I stopped the whacking and they scattered. Not a good environment for small children as they have many acres to run around and school is out now. Not many retired folks are here right now and in the winter it must be difficult to get a reservation when about half of the spots are already taken year round.

Easy after-hours check-in with camp host who was very helpful. Very quiet at night. Had great sleep. No problem getting reservation same day; they had a few vacant spots. We didn't know where we would get to by that date. Concrete pads.

Good FAM Camp. Very easy to get the RV park. You will have your coach inspected due to some issues last year with people coming on base and spray painting the missiles . We stayed here for four days. Every one is friendly and durning high season from what i understand there is so much going on at the club house. There are all kinds of activities. This base is huge and has a extremely long bike path behind the RV park to ride your bicycles, round trip over 6 miles. The wild life is abundant. The base is so beautiful and nice. The campground has nice RV level pads to keep your RV off the dirt. Nice hookups and cable of 40 channels is included. Our site #3 had two large trees to block some of the hot afternoon sun. There is a lot of space between each RV slot and with hedges to provide some privacy. There is a large club house with air conditioning. Full kitchen with stove, fridge and many more amenities. On the downside is that the laundry facilities are very old and some of the machines are not working. The AC for the laundry facility and bathrooms was broken along with the Ice machine. Front offices has no idea when and if they will get fixed. This park is well maintained and you can see that. This base is great for families and extended time. Check in was simple and the cost is only $20.00 a day for full hookups. The rules STATE THE “MAXIMUM stay is 180 days” This is not enforced due to upper management not enforcing the rules and allowing homesteading to go on. There is some Rver’s that have been in the same spot for over five years! While management is letting active duty, retires, contractors and DOD people stay here for years. This is an MWR benefit not a RIGHT to abuse the rules and benefits our retires worked so hard for. Active duty has other housing options vs a MWR benefit. It makes it hard for others to enjoy the same benefit due to lack of spots. Everyone needs to rotate out at 180 days unless there is an available slot. Just like other military bases you must move out and wait 24 hours before making a new reservation. I don’t know how soon they are going to add 40 new slots but it wont be in the next few months. Would come back here for sure.

We've camped here twice & it was lovely both times! We had a nice lake view and the facilities are so clean (thanks to Addie, because of her, that makes all the difference in how nice it is)! The laundry facility is great, not to mention it's free for guests to use. There are boats, bikes, etc, to use or rent. And lots of dedicated bike lanes! It's really a wonderful place to camp. St. Mary's is very close, which means Lang's Seafood is as well. Don't miss that yummy Georgia shrimp! (Closed Sun/Mon.) Also St. Mary's Seafood is quite good, too.
