Will be going to our favorite Military RV Park; EAGLE HAMMOCK and now it will be open. Plan on touring Tybee Island and look for a place to buy. The staff we talk to is Top Notch and hope to meet some of our friends we have seen for the last 20 years at this RV Park. Hope the Community Building will be open and would be nice to have some potlucks and games. Look forward to meeting friends again!...
This will be the last time we come here as there are 3 different RV parks and the one for military is disgusting and dog poop no one cleans up and the sites are nasty and full of all kinds of stuff. The RV park past the office is for long term trailers who I guess work here or around here. The first one is where we are and no one does any maintenance at all; not happy about this...
Been quite a while since we have been here and staying for a few weeks and the hosts are fabulous. New furniture in the clubhouse and new stove and fridge and great lawn furniture to use. Some folks have been here for years and the units are not looking good and some vehicles are not being used but sitting on their sites. Many military are now living here and children are running willy-nilly and I almost got run over...
Have not been here since March 2015 and what a difference since then. About 75% of the sites are filled with homesteaders and it is very obvious they are here to stay. Grass was cut but sidewalks around the community center were not cleared of the dried grass that blew onto the sidewalk and our site was covered with dead grass and dirt also. I went into the C.C. no library anymore and a foul food smell was coming...
There will be numerous construction projects going on in the RV park as the front and back sections need to have electric redone as they are not to code. Back section totally empty of RV's and they are starting on the electric lines. Front section will be done next and a third section for RV's will eventually be added. Several of the active duty living in the adjacent RV park have moved over to the short term lots as...
Love to visit this place and usually come during Mardi Gras and for the first time this place is packed so I am happy to see it is becoming popular. The road was not paved since our last visit but they are filling the potholes with dirt and rocks so it is helpful. Numerous buildings and construction projects going on and word has it a fence will be along the flight line beyond the small creek in the RV...
It has been 6 years since we have been here and the campground looks exactly the same. No construction on interior roads of the installation and seeing all branches of the service was a nice surprise. Looks like there are many active duty staying in the RV park and thankfully there is a nice playground for all the children. Go to ITT and check out the great prices as we saved over 50% on one of the packages we...
This will be a wonderful place for the snowbirds as the new sites are varying sizes with nice concrete pads and many of them will accommodate big rigs. The price of $30.00 for the sites along the Banana River is surprising as they are still the same as when we were there 2 years ago and paid a lot less. Did notice there is minimal parking available at the new check in/community building so folks will have quite a...
This is our first summer stay here for 2 weeks and very surprised it is almost full every day. The position of the sun blasts right into the windshield this time of year compared to the winter months but still put this at the top of the FamCamps. The road work is just about completed and the 10 MPH posted limit is ignored and even see phone use on base while driving, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. We have been coming here since...
Stayed one night on our way home from Foster Creek NWS, SC and still a gem. Construction of roads continues and when completed it should improve traffic movement greatly. Not being educated about Naval Vessels there were some huge ships being worked on we have never seen in Mayport before and the fleet normally based there was gone. Safe Harbor Seafood in the little village of Mayport is going to expand the restaurant and the large processing building across...
I rated all fives based on other reviews since we did only a drive thru. It rained several inches the day before so numerous sites with or without RV's were covered in water. Some had several inches of water and the road in the new section was under water on one side. Some sites the water was so deep the sewer hook was not visible. The new section sits lower than the old section and woods around those sites...
Has been 3 years since we were here and it is always fun to come back to this area as it is so convenient to head into Charleston. I am very impressed with the dog owners living in this community as they are the most respectful of any I have seen at all FamCamps we have stayed at. Amenities and Value I gave a 3 since it cost over $600.00 to stay here this long and you have a...
First time here and Lori and Julian are top notch and Ed filled in one week and he also was attentive and helpful. The sites are some of the best we have seen in FamCamps as they are very long and wide with a very level concrete pad and a picnic table. Lots of grassy area between sites and we are in site #6 so had the deer from the woods behind us come for a nightly visit around...
Our fourth time here and once again it is at the top of our go to military RV parks. Each day a bus comes in fully loaded to the processing center with new recruits and the looks on some of their faces is priceless, some appear glazed while others are all pumped up. This base is upgrading the mess hall next year and some chatter about allowing retirees to eat there. Kenny feels strongly the roads will be done...
Quite a bit of construction on the roads and interior of the base. They are widening Massey Road to what looks like a second lane for egress of traffic onto Mayport Road. New Logistic Support building going up also and dredging continues in the basin. Very few ships in port but did get to see a submarine arrive and depart while here and that is not something we get to see often. RV Park is full and as soon as...
WOW is this place packed this year with every overflow used and as many as 5 in dry camping. As this is so close to I95 it is the perfect place to stop going South or North. We have been coming here since this campground opened and it has been well maintained and new hosts here are top notch. Office staff is efficient and courteous and the landscape is always neat. Be aware there will be some changes coming on...
