Can't say enough about how great this place is. We had a back in site with lots of shade. Was only able to get three channels on the cable and no TV over the antenna at our location. Expect only one bar on your AT&T cell phone. Very friendly staff. They called to check on us while we were traveling. We camp in a 42' class A. Campground is well kept. Not...
Reservations were easy and very friendly workers. Easy to get to just follow the signs to the park. Just a note that Johnson Road is now West Lake Rd. We used three GPS devices and everyone tried to take us through training areas on dirt roads. If you get on a dirt road, you're in the wrong area. We followed the written instructions and had no problems. Overall, very nice place to camp. One...
This was our first visit to Camp Shelby. It will not be our last. This is a great place to relax. We followed the information above to locate our campground site. Although the signs are small on the base we had no problems locating site 56 in the new section of the campground. We had a pull through with concrete pad. Was more enough for the RV (40 ft) and tow vehicle. Full...
We used the commercial gate due to being 41 ft and towing. We did have to go to the visitors center to get a pass for our daughter and son-inlaw. Everyone went overboard at making our stay here one of the best campgrounds we’ve stayed at. The bathhouse was very clean. Fuel prices on base were lowest in the area. We did get to see the B1’s take off and land several times. Great location to see all the sites....
This was our first stay at Fort Benning. We have been told about this campground from a Army buddy of ours. He couldn't say enough about how great this place was. We found them to be true. One of the nicest Army Campgrounds we've every stayed at. Flat sites. There is cable service but our antenna worked pretty well. Staff was very friendly. It's a remote location but still close enough...
First off I have to say the Camp Host, Phil and Terri were very friendly. We were greeted and given our packet and shown where we were to be parked. Everything was great. One word of caution to campers is that you might need an electrical extension and maybe an extra water hose because for some reason the electrical boxes and water connection were installed too far forward. The concrete pads are great. The cable hasn't...
I go out of my way to stay at this park. We could stay in a parking lot, or look for a campground off the interstate but we like this place. It's quite and has very nice concrete pads. You can't beat the price. The only thing that needs attention is the gravel road through the actual RV park. This area has had a lot of rain, which has caused the gravel to wash out. We arrived on Jan...
Great campground. The only thing to warn those with pets is that some campers with large dogs are not cleaning up after them. Also the ticks are very bad right now. Can't beat the value and flat sights. Very clean with the exception of the dog poop. The staff work hard to keep it that way. This is our fourth stay. Will come back. Busters post says everything else. Is a top knock campground.
Stayed here one night. Large concrete pads, full hook ups. About 40 ft to 45 ft long. They are building about 12 more concrete pads. A mistake I made was I busted my water filter canister. I hooked to the water, unfiltered and picked up a lot of sand. After I put a new canister on, I had to pull off the commode valves and the kitchen faucet to clean the filters. Never use unfiltered water! They have also...
Our first at this campsite. Bathrooms clean and freshly painted. Grass was mowed but no weed eating. The pros are the sites are level and full hookups. It was quite. The gate nearest the camp site is only open on the weekdays. On the weekends it's not a real problem getting across the base but it really is a long way away from anything. The cons are there are no camp host, office is so far away...
Wonderful Place. This is our third visit to this campground. Only problem is the internet which is sporadic. But then maybe that’s a blessing. Not far from the beach, everyone is so friendly. Laundry room is great. Endless coffee for those that partake. Hats off to everyone at Mayport. Will come back again.
With cable, 50 amp service and 25 X 65 concrete pads what else could you ask for? Trees. This is a great place but with very few trees, it can get hot. Located near PX and Commissary. Used the dog walk area, which was great. Did not use the bathhouse or laundry. You have to enter via gate 1, which is the only gate that can handle entries of large vehicles, but you can...
This was our second stay at Mayport. This stay was even better than the last. We were parked on the front roll. Our view was wonderful. We saw one submarine and many ships to include the Dwight D. Eisenhower that came in for a few days. The beach is the best we've ever been to. The laundry building was completed and very nice. Everyone seems to go out of their way to make your...
We spent one night here while we were traveling to FL. If you want a campground near “planes, trains and automobiles” this is not the place. This is a very peaceful and nice campground. Each RV spot has new level concrete pads, new fire rings, new elevated grills and nice electric/water hookups. The campground is well shaded. They were working on the cable when we visited so it was not operational. Each site had...
One of the best sites we have been to. It must be the Navy but we've been to four Navy camps and they are all great. Hats off to Charley for being so helpful and to Betty for all the activities. They run a really good "ship". There are plenty to do for that wish to stay active. The walking trails are very nice. Saw an Eagle flying over the lake and heard boar in...
This was our first visit to Pelican Roost. This will not be the last. We loved it. We dealt with Woody and Ed mostly. Great folks. The only thing that needs attention is the showers. There three showers on each side but the water pressure was low both times we used them. Other than that it was very clean. The laundry was being finished while we were there so that adds to the...
