We are full time RVers and travel from famcamp to famcamp. If only every base famcamp was this well set up and organized! They even give you a map when you show up! Nellis is a little different because you go onto one side of the base for the famcamp and than have to leave that side, cross the road and go into another base for the gym, commissary and BX. But the famcamp is fantastic, concrete pads, full hook ups, clean facilities, and there’s a bit of concealment (not right next to your neighbor). The location is great for going to the strip, lake mead, Hoover dam etc! Highly recommend!

First, we always use the Speedway exit off the interstate, then Hollywood Dr and on to Las Vegas Blvd. Sooo much easier. Good Petro for fuel at the interstate exit. Craig Rd can be a total traffic nightmare. We stayed here passing through for the night, wanted a plug for the ACs. Were through on July and just as nice. Staff is so friendly and helpful. We stayed in the older area, more trees. Read my previous review for more details.

Our 5th time staying here in the past 5 years. And every time has been terrific. We are here in the summer and it is HOT, so be prepared. The campgrounds electricity has stood up to the use of Acs all day long by all the residents. Very cheerful, friendly, helpful staff. Our check-in was a breeze, easy directions and they even will escort you to your site. We stayed in the wagon wheel area, while it is older, it has tree's, more space, and shade. There are pull-throughs and back-ins, for us, the pull throughs fit our 35' MH with our toad connected so we did not have to unhook overnight. There are some restaurants that deliver, Papa John's, if so inclined. The easiest route we have found is to get off I-15 at Speedway, take Hollywood to Las Vegas Blvd N, then an easy right turn into the base. We will stay here again for sure. WiFi was good, facilities are nice. But I think it is the staff that has made our visits so good.

For staying in the Las Vegas area, this really is the best place, especially since the daily rate is so good when compared to the limited other RV parks in Vegas. We had to stay at the KOA and Las Vegas RV Resort before getting into Nellis AFB. Both of those other parks are off Nellis Blvd, which is heavily crime ridden (drug use, homeless, beggars & crazy drivers), will never, ever stay at those two parks again. We were able to get a spot in the older section (wagon wheel) sites here on base. All are very spacious, and it really feels like you are in a park setting. The newer sites are closer together and more like a basic RV park. Office staff is great and very helpful. There is a gas/shopette close to the RV park and if you need gas, no diesel, it is easy in and out, plus best price per gallon for gas in the area. You are 15 minutes from the strip and close to many different venues and historical areas. We will stop here again if we ever do come through Las Vegas.

We stayed 5 nights at Desert Eagle RV Park in a 42' Fifth Wheel. The park roads were a little narrow, but manageable. The site was awesome. Concrete pad with a large concrete patio plus designated parking. Plenty of room between sites. We stayed in the older section that had some shade. Only change we'd want would be to get a site either north or west facing, to put the sun behind the camper in late afternoon. Very little aircraft noise, mostly in the afternoons. Good laundry room and showers, clean. Laundry was $0.75 to wash and dry. 4 washers and dryers. If you go, use the Range Gate. Our GPS took us to the Landings Gate and had to go all through housing to get there. Easy to get to town. Lots of amenities and a text system to keep you informed of any upcoming events. We'll be back.

Guess I'm an outlier...I didn't find the new sites appealing at all. The are too narrow and too close for comfort. I had to park my truck at an angle to avoid hitting the neighbors sewer hose as well as the living room slide on my 5th wheel. Pulled in the passenger side mirror to give myself a little more room to get around the truck as well. Also had the truck's rear sitting about a foot into the road. One of the hosts said longbed trucks have issues with the parking spaces at the sites. Had a site in the 190 row. Park's wifi signal was too weak to work and my Verizon jetpack had weak signal, too. At least the sites and interior roads were easy enough to maneuver around. One positive thing is the price. I wouldn't be surprised if the price goes up in a year or 2. If we had been in the old sites, now called "Premium sites", my ratings would likely be higher. Those sites are huge and offer more privacy. The new sites remind me of a typical RV park that crams RVs together to maximize occupancy. Would likely stay in the new sites again for an overnight or 2, but not for anything longer. This park is probably in the bottom 3 of Fam Camps I have stayed in.

What a great RV park. We have stayed at many FamCamps across the country but, this one is by far one of the nicest; ranks right up there with Peregrine Pines at the Air Force Academy. Super friendly staff and really easy check in, appreciated the "follow-me" cart to our site (#16). The site we were given is HUGE and easily accommodated our 45' 5ver and 20' F450. Great amenities for the kid and the dog. Super easy to get to Las Vegas for a show and Hoover Dam. Will be back for sure.

My wife and I stayed at Desert Eagle Campgrounds for 4 days in April 2022. Check in was easy, but time consuming because of Covid restrictions. The campground staff and supervisor were friendly and very helpful. The camp site was big on a concrete pad. The restrooms were very clean. Laundry facilities were available. We were traveling in a modified camper van. If we go back to Las Vegas area, we will stay here again. Thank you Desert Eagle

This is our second long term (for us long term is more than a month) stay at Desert Eagle. It is a great park - especially in the wagon wheel section. There is so much room in the wagon wheels that it is very comfortable, and you don't feel watched by close neighbors. There is no grass to mow, no flower gardens to keep up, no edging to be done - just a lot of gravel and sand. The sites are concrete and the grounds are gravel and sand. Sites are level and utilities are placed well and work good. T-Mobile gets excellent signal and almost any site is satellite friendly. There are a few exceptions but not many. It can get really windy here. Also, the Air Force Thunderbirds home base here so you can see them practice once in awhile. We are not big fans of the desert and that is the only reason my review is not lacking in excitement. The base here is great. It's got a very large commissary and exchange. I'm sure, if we in the area again, we will come back.

Spent one night in the new pull thru sites, and was very happy. The original 'wagon-wheel' sections are perfect for those who stay for months, but the standard pull through we had in the new section is great for those who are just in town to go out 'on the town'. Woke up to reveille, drifted back off again, but an F-15 practicing 'close air support' soon there after, makes an effective snooze alarm. Definitely can't wait to stay for a month or two when we go full timing.

We had a nice site with everything we needed. cell service (t-mobile) was non existent however, no wifi or cable either. We enjoyed the cactus garden, bocce ball court, dog park & walking trail. Most of the campers seem to live/work there. In true AF fashion, the campground is unattractively situated between the solar farm and the fuel tanks. A bike ride will take you to the housing area overflow rv area, and that's it. The base is divided - this side is housing, the medical clinic and the campground (and the fuel tanks). The other side is base BX, Commissary, gas station, church, car wash, etc. At the time the office was closed (b/c of covid?) you weren't allowed in. No change machine in the laundry room.(why would they make it convenient?) FYI It was below freezing at nights in late December/Jan. Disconnect your water. we did each night had no problems.

Stopped by to talk to Rv park office. Didn’t have our Rv with us this trip visiting family. Office still closed to the condition Bravo(?) but a very nice young man came outside to talk w/ me. He expects normal ops by 1 Oct. The park is almost full now. All services and amenities mentioned in past reviews are still current. Website driving Directions are still current too. Call in early mornings for “ no show” info. Old wagon wheel spots are very pretty & large. The new area is the modern Rv “parking lot” design. Close and bare ground. The only thing I was surprised about was the tight turning required at the gate. I was surprised all those giant 5 wheelers could make it. But the park is full of them so I’m sure my 28’ tt can make it. Looking forward to returning to stay in park soon.

Another visit to this park. Once arrived at famcamp need to call for check-in, office is closed due to COVID. Our site this time was in the new section of the famcamp, site was level and concrete pad long enough. The sites are a bit close to each other. Overall this is a good place for a stop over. If staying long term might opt for the bit more expensive older sites with mature trees and space between sites. We do like this famcamp and usually have good luck in getting a reservation when needed. Wi-fi is usable.

This is one of our top 3 military campgrounds that we have visited. Luckily we were in the old section so we had plenty of room and even shade! The staff there is super friendly and it is a pretty quiet location. We have a video review above of this place. Highly recommend!

Not our first time here, but first in the new part. I had reservations that put me in a "wagon wheel", but they were able to find me a pull thru near the dog park, bath house and shower. this made for short walks with the pup. Overall we had a great time here. I did try to use the bath/shower, but could never get the hot water to come on, so back to the MH.(it was and had been pretty cold and breezy in the area).

Our third time staying here. Usually for just an overnight but this time we stayed a couple days to attend a football game. There are sites with some shade in the wagon wheels part. Pull thoughts and back ins. Good utilities. Bummer that the internet blocks connecting to WiFiRanger, it it is a strong signal. Did not use it much, as you have to pay for over 30 mi items. The highlight was the staff. They were very accommodating when we had an issue with out rig. They are very nice, helpful and friendly. OBTW, Papa John’s delivers to you site. Will stay here again when in the area. Thanks to the staff again for all the help.

Wow this is a nice military campground. Based my ratings on other military campgrounds I've stayed in this place is spotless, well-kept, and the staff escorted me to the site. Only stayed a couple of days while traveling to Wyoming but overall it was a good stay. Laundry was 75¢ per machine. There were poop bag dispensers every 100' around the park. $22 for full hookups & pull through a great value.

This is our first visit to a military Famcamp and I think we have been ruined for all of the rest. We are at site 222 in the new section of the park. We are very close to the dog park, laundry, and our neighbors. The older section, wagon wheels, have wonderful trees and much more space. Our need to come here was weather-based so a last-minute reservation and we got what they had available. It is a new section so we have young trees and your normal stone/concrete site. The staff has been wonderful and friendly along with our fellow visitors. As for the base facilities, visited the Commissary for our grocery needs. They have a wonderful produce section and things are reasonably priced. The staff was helpful and friendly. The exchange is huge and exactly what you would expect. Overall our experience was outstanding. The Commander of Nellis AFB should be very proud of this facility. Even the security staff at the gate smiled. We will be spending time here again. Maybe an entire winter.
