While I don't like advertisements, it does keep this website in operation. A necessary evil.

Probably correct. I'm sure that AdBlock blocks ads coming from other locations that are "added" to the website "on demand". Currently, the only ad I run that is part of the website is my Directory software ad at the top. All others are Google ads. And yes - Google has a method of knowing where you've already visited. Their ads are normally personalized for each user to display what is relevant to your browsing history and what is being shown on the web page. The ads I see are not always the ads you see.monkey44 wrote: I would guess that Adblock will not block Ads that Larry has on the site (Is that right Larry?), only the random generated ads like Google and Yahoo stick on there when you open the search engine or browser.

That's correct Larry. Adblock blocks ads coming from 3rd party sites, and that includes the ads here on Military Campgrounds. It does not block the ad for downloading the Military Campgrounds software, because that is embedded in the website. Adblock DOES have a setting to disable it for any site that you want to allow ads from, but I block ALL ads. The reason for this is that those ads know your preferences by downloading what is known as a "tracking cookie" which lets Google and others know what you're interested in and tailors the ads for you. The only problem with that is that Google passes these preferences on to others. I would rather just send you some extra cash each year Larry than have ads pop up while I'm browsing. Sorry.
The only thing wrong with being retired is that you never get a day off!
