Norfolk/Va Beach area?

Is there any MWA RV park (with hookups --- we're staying several days) in the Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Little Creek area?

There are a bunch of them. Check out the info in this site, the TrailerLife book, or the military campground book. Ft. Monroe in Newport News is nice as is Yorktown.

I had reports that Yorktown was severly damaged in a hurricane a couple years ago and was closed down, with no plans to rebuild. The Coast Guard MWR site no longer lists Yorktown either.

Do you know if it's open or closed?

I typed it in too fast. It should have been Cheatum Annex. They're very close together (5-10 miles) and I guess I got the finger version of tongue tied. Last I heard Yorktown CG station campground is still closed.

NAS Oceana has just opened a new RV park this past July. I ride by every day, and while there are always campers in the park, there always seems to be empty spaces. I believe there is also a park at Little Creek NAB.
