According the latest info we have here on the website, Ocean Pines RV Park at Oceana NAS has 60 sites, with FHU, at $20 a night.

If anyone visits there, be sure to submit an update here. We also need some photographs. ;D

Sea Mist Campground at Dam Neck is a nice campground with a short walk to the beach. Not far from the Exchange and Commissary at Oceana. Showers clean but a little outdated.

Ft Monroe in Hampton, VA has nice sites, within walking distance to some great walking paths along the water. I remember when I was stationed there it was always full. limited number of sites, so could be hard to get a reservation.
Ft Story campground is stuck in a very wooded area so close to the water in Virginia Beach. On a sunny day, it would be hard to notice? Would NOT recommend this place.
Little Creek was great when we stayed there several years ago.
Cheatam Annex is also great. Just a mile or two from WATER COUNTRY USA and Busch Gardens, this campgorund is next to a golf course. Our time there, we watched as the retirees would wait till almost sundown to walk over and play a few holes for free, after the clubhouse had closed, but still light enough to get in a few rounds. You must have long cable cords for most of these sites.

Last November we camped next to the Fire Chief from Cheatam Annex (at a Jellystone in Luray VA) He told us that Cheatam Annex was open but USGC Yorktown was closed for good.

Stayed at Ft Monroe in October.. nice CG.. Drove thru Langley AFB CG and since they installed sewers the place has gone down hill, turned into a trailer trash park. Worse AF CG I've ever seen.

Above comments about Dam Neck & Ft Story are as I remember.

I just love Stewart Campground at Northeast Annex in Chesapeake. Electric and water and a dump on the way in or out. It is Waaaaaaaay back in the boonies but it is absolutely beautiful. Probably not a good idea if you have pets due to the numerous warning signs about bears. Nice little base in the backwater. Check it out here.

We really enjoy USCG Station Elizabeth City, NC which is just a little south of Virginia Beach and about 45-50 miles from the Outerbanks...stayed there for 2 months last fall.....also like Cheatham Annex....we're heading there April 1st for a week on our way back to our home base camp in PA....being fulltimers we keep our eyes open for the neat little RV Parks as well as the larger ones.....Right now we're at Fort Stewart, Ga RV campground....water & electric hookups, but located in a nice wooded area with a fishing pond....hence the name Holbrook Pond RV Campground.....
