I read in the Military RV book that Camp Blanding charges a $2.14/day/pet/site. This is unheard of anywhere I have been, can anyone verify the validity or accuracy of this? Am thinking of visiting later this year (Nov time frame) and was curious. Thanks

We visited Camp Blanding, Fl. in May, 2007 - & I think that is correct that they do charge for each pet. Campground is O.K. - very nice lake area - it did seem like you could have a good time if you fished or boated. Restrooms need alot of cleaning - husband said alot of dead bugs in bathroom. Husband usually uses campground restrooms for bathing - instead of using shower in motor home. We would stay again - this campground seems like it is being worked on at this time. Stayed here on our way back from Ft. Wilderness - Disney World

This is true, and there are 2 different areas for RV's. Only one of them allows pets. >:(

We tried staying at Blanding in January of 07, The security people were rude and very obnoxious, they said that the base commander didn't allow any dogs or cats on the base. We had no idea that this was the case until we got there. They told us to leave, not asked, told. We left and haven't been back... :-X Dave and Betsy :-X

We have stayed at Camp Blanding 3 or 4 times over the past few years and they have always had a pet fee. Just show your pets shot papers on check-in and all is well. The civilian gate guards have always been very helpful with us. In the Army's MWR web page (Paths Across America) the fee is explained. Larry should also put it in his listing for Camp Blanding.

I've stayed at Camp Blanding several times over the years. Yes, they do have a pet fee. Never had a problem with this place. Right ON the water. I pull my 24' bowrider boat down behind my 35' Class A, launch it right beside the campground, beach it at the campground, and enjoy my time with my family away from Iraq. I think we need to be thankful for even having campgrounds. If the bathroom is dirty, clean it. Otherwise, go down the street to the KOA.
