Hey Monkey!

I have never heard that one about the interference. I can tell you that wireless is under serious consideration. $5 a day is a pricy for a cable modem and I have made my opinion known on that matter. On a positive side there is extended cable with about 60 channels free to every site.

Hopefully, we will see free wifi here sooner rather than later. The challenge here is that we have approximately 150 lodging units spread over a three mile beach front. Getting wifi to all of those sites and the rv park is more complicated that putting up 2-3 access points for just the rv park. Onslow Beach is a much larger operation than most people realize.

Not making excuses. Just saying...

Just about every MCG I have been to and heard of with LITTLE exception, that has FREE WIFI, is a bold faced lie. They up their rates to include it and it appears that it is free. Actually eveyone is paying for it, even if they don't use it or want it.

Well, the access is there, and you can get a modem and use it if you want -- so only people that want it pay -- I'm only saying that $5 is too much ... internet access is cheap in the real world and already there, so is the cable TV -- I know, I know we all pay as part of the fee -- but if you saw a $5 add-on for cable, would you think that is fair price ... bet not. It's not about who pays, nothing is free, I just expect it to be reasonable and $5 a night equates to $150 a month - just for WIFI ...

Most commercial campgrounds charge $9.95/night for wifi or bury the charge in the campground daily fee and call it free wifi. So, 5$ is about 50% off the going rate outside and not a bad price for unlimited access. That being said, the trend in military campgrounds seems to be free access.

I left Onslow Beach as a camp host at the end of March. We have not had modems there for over a year and a half. There is great free wifi located throughout the entire recreation area not just the rv park. The signal even reaches down onto the beach. I am sure who would be accessing the Internet while swimming but the signal is there.
