Thanks for all the suggestions. We will try the Tortilla Flats for a couple days so we can drive the Apache Trail and will then move to the northwest side as I have family in Surprise and in Yarnell. We belong to both PA and to VFW.

Some of the major hospitals in Mississippi have RV Elec. hookup at the Hospital. (patients or fam. being treated) spelling That may also be the case with Mayo. Maintainence Dept is usually the most knowledgable. just a long shot.

Unfortunately, not the case.
Thanks for the input, Larry, and everyone else. Have checked out the dispersed camping along the Verde River north of Rio Verde and if you've got a smaller rig, it is pretty good and 'free'. Has pits and trash bins. If you've got a big rig -- read "tall" -- there are several overhanging trees on the road in that will scrape h@ll out of the top of your rig. We decided ours wouldn't fit and will keep looking.
3/8/08: Checked out the camping at the Bartlett Dam Rec Area (run by USFS) northeast of Carefree. Don't. Long, loonngg, way back in, big hills, no sites really suitable for RV camping. It is a weekend mecca for fishing folks and other water sports.
Will keep looking.

For any of you folks looking toward the north west of the Phoenix area,,,try the Escapees park a little south of Congress, AZ. on Rt. 89
Follow Rt 60 NW out of Phoenix to Rt 93 in Wickenburg AZ, then swing north on Rt 89 towards Yarnell/Prescott.
We're retired in Congress. If you plan on traveling thru give us a call and we'll show you the best resturant in town!
[email protected]
Rt 93 will take you all the way to las Vegas or the Canadian Border if you want to go that far.
