Dental insurance

Now that we are retired retired, been looking for dental insurance
anyone use tricare delta dental at 50 bux a month?
Any hints for affordable coverage would be GREAT

If it was $50 a month where we are I would have done it, but in our area it would be $73.08 for the 2 of us, so I kept my work plan with Delta Dental when I retired which was $68. We figured out that the premiums were about equal to the yearly cost for routine care - so having the insurance covers the unexpected.

My wife and I have it and it is about $63 a month here. My plan at work was about $5 a month higher so the TRDP was a little cheaper with the same benefits. We like it and there seem to be plenty of dentists in the plan. I only makes sense if you have our teeth cleaned twice a year and/or need other work, which we do.

We also pay around $63 for the family plan (me & her). Found no other plans that come close. She retired in June & we lost her ($27)plan then.

Never had any problems with the coverage or finding a dentest.

We did not carry the TriCare Delta Dental while we both worked for the state of Oklahoma. The state covered us for health/dental and paid for it. Once we retired from the state we changed everything to TriCare, including the dental. We pay just over $50 a month and so far it has worked just like what we had with the state. The only drawback is we did not go direct from our state coverage to Delta. We retired 7/1/06 and did not sign up for Delta until December 2006. Because of that we have a 12 month waiting period for any major type of stuff. The wife had to pay for a crown recently because of that waiting period. Come December the 12 months will be up and I expect it to be good coverage.

at my last job(army contractor) the company covered it all but 16 a month for a family, so the 50 a month was just a big SHOCKER
needed a warm fuzzy so to speak
