User Map

I saw my "ballon" on the map and corrected the location before the site was hacked. I was viewing the map today and was unable to find my ballon. Am I doing something wrong? I tried search but wasn't able to see my info on the map.

If you manually move a "balloon", it's temporary. If your IP address changes, then your balloon will return to the default location for that IP address. Many IP addresses don't have a geographical location associated with it, so they don't show up at all. If this is the case, you can still manually set your location.
Any locations manually changed from July 24th to August 7th were lost because of the problems on the website.
Just move your location again and you'll be set (until your IP address changes).

I still can't get into this thing. The map will come up and a little "wheel" looking thing will spin, forever. If I try to enter info down at the bottom I get a message that says I must be logged on to do this. Of course I'm logged in or I would not be able to send messages on the forum. When I move out of the user map page it logs me completely out of the site and I have to log back in. Don't know what is causing this. Not a big deal but I just think it is kind of neat to see where everyone is.

You need to let the wheel stop spinning. Sometimes, it does take a minute since there's so many users to load. Perhaps I should reduce the number to the most recent 200 visitors, instead of the most recent 500.
MANY IP addresses don't appear. Verizon and AT&T are a couple I know don't have a geographical location associated to an IP address. Perhaps it's because of their "mobile" association. ???
This "User Map" was just a fun thing to include. If you don't appear on the map, there's 2 ways you can add yourself mentioned further in this discusion topic.

Well I went back to the dial-up and logged in and changed my information and re-positioned my ballon to correctly indicate my home base location. Am now back to my air-card and see that it is working. Thanks..
