We have over 5000 members signed up on this website -- wonder why so few of us actually post on this forum?? I know, I know we're busy camping : but most of us have internet access in our RV's -- so, I'd be curious what you guys think about so many not gathering info here, or contributing ??
Any guesses??

1) Lack of knowledge of the forum portion of the website. I was a member for over a year before I really explored the site and found the forum.
2) Many people just like to "lurk" and read the post but are timid about posting. That is true on many of the Yahoo! groups I'm a member of. A bunch of member but only a few really respond to each other.

Wonder what we could do to get more participation ??? There must be a ton of knowledge out there about camping, vehicles, RV's, travel etc. Particularly because have a specific core audience here with everyone connected to the military one way or another.
And I've met several "voices" on this forum that I'd like to share a campfire with sometime.

I figured that since this was a Military forum that others would prefer people talking about military campgrounds and so on. I have only stayed at one military campground. Why? I dont know maybe its cuz the others are next to the highways and byways and easier to access on short notice while traveling and also less of a hassle to get in and out of.

True enough -- about the MCG's, but we sure have alot more in common and to share about RV's travel, repairs, and just general camping stuff -- not just comments about militry campgrounds as an "isolating mechanism" ... so I guess I thought more of the "sign-ups" would actually share comments and information ... don't know how many actually read and post here, but it's not anywhere near the 5000+ that have signed up.
Most probably use this as a "map' and info about MCG's -- right enough -- just seems more would be into chatting as well. And I have no idea what the percentage is of retired vs active duty either -- so it could be a time element as well ...

There's a poll in the forums on military affiliation. It ran on the home page for a month and will probably run again. But like the forums, only a small fraction of users answer the monthly poll.
