Tiffin Phaeton? was created by larryf
Lately, I've been thinking of upgrading our "wheel estate". We're fulltimers and this is our only home.
We're researching and considering purchasing a 2010 Tiffin Phaeton motor home. Probably the 36' rig (36 QHS).
Anyone have anything they wish to share - good or bad?

You will definitely get support from the company. The CEO will even call you on the weekend. I have had two Allegros and will be buying another. If you go to Red Bay for factory maintenance, the Piggly Wiggly has the best southern fried chicken we ever had.

Larry.........We purchased our 2008 40'Phaeton QDH in March of 2009. We had a few issues that we emailed the company about. The owner, Bob Tiffin, called me Monday morning and we discussed the problem. He told me that I could take the Phaeton to any shop that I feel comfortable with, when the work is completed call him and he will pay for the repairs with his credit card. I did, he paid. He said, we built that coach and we will take care of it.
Larry if you order a new Phaeton, you can go to Red Bay and watch every step of the process as it's being built.
A few week ago we visited the factor in Red Bay, Al. We had an appointment and stayed 2 weeks in their campground. They took our Phaeton in the shop every morning at 7am and worked until 3pm. They took care of every concern that we had. I had 2 very small rock dings on the front, so what did they do? They painted the entire front and added Diamond Shield at no cost to me. I stayed 2 weeks, met the nicest people and only paid for accessories I had put on. All work was done under warranty. I cant see me having repairs or preventive maintenance service anywhere but Red Bay. You learn so much about your coach while you're there.
I have another appointment for next August. I plan to visit the factory in Red Bay and the Freightliner Chassis plant in Gaffney once a year for service work.
Bob Tiffin never closes his office door. You can talk with him at any time. We had a nice visit with him in Red Bay. What a great guy.
My next coach will be another Tiffin product. I am very pleased.
I'll agree with Ed, Piggly Wiggly is a good place to eat in Red Bay.

We had an 03 Phaeton for 4 years and yes Bob Tiffin and his sons stand behind their motorhomes 100%. After the first visit to Red Bay you will not even think of letting someone else touch your motorhome for a repair or update. We have an 06 Tiffin Zephyr now and just make an annual appointment for each fall so we go to Red Bay and have any minor repairs taken care of. When you are in Red Bay for repairs they will let you in and out of your motorhome while they work on it so you can keep your pets with you in the motorhome too. Here is one example of how they will do what it takes to keep a customer happy; our Sleep Number bed in the Zephyr (it was a year old when we bought it) had a broken zipper and Lazy Days Crown Club did not want to deal with it, said it was our problem to get fixed, Yikes. So on our first trip to Red Bay got a new top for the mattress with no questioned asked when they saw the broken zipper. Tiffin has survived the poor economy and his production is ramping up again and it will probably be the No. 1 selling motorhome in 2010 until the others starting producing again. If we would ever trade in our 06 Zephyr it will be for another Zephyr. Good luck and you will be a very happy customer if you buy Tiffin.

We spent a couple days at the factory in Red Bay a couple weeks ago. We took the tour and got a free night stay. While I think Red (the tour guide) is nice, the tour wasn't very informative. Don't get me wrong, we GREATLY enjoyed getting into the factory and watching the production. I was just disappointed in the information presented during the tour. It wasn't organized, some incorrect information was given, and we didn't know what we were looking at half the time. But we did enjoy the factory and will go there again.
We had planned to return and watch our new rig "being born", but there was a scheduling conflict. Our rig started production 2 days ago, but we're at Disney World with family this week.
