Retiree

I was recently at a military installation where I participated in a fee-for-use recreational facility. The price structure was based on rank. That's a typical price policy, but it didn't include a break for retirees. I had to pay the same price as my active duty ranking counterpart despite the fact that my paycheck is about 2/3 less than their's. That might be ok if I were a retired PVT, but I happen to be at the top of the price chart by rank.
That's a burr under my saddle. Can you imagine the loud complaining that would happen if the campground did that?
I made an ICE submission, but I suspect that's just my two cents worth that I should have saved to pay the facility fee.
Does anyone else have a problem with this issue?

Well, that all depends on what it was and the cost.

Let's be thankful that "they" don't require us to file a Means Test to enter campgrounds!
Perhaps if you earn >$29,402 camping and "services" should be free using the VA Income Threshold chart  Ha!

Not really, my retirement as an officer is considerably more than an enlisted retiree's would be, so it seems reasonable to pay a little more. It's still a lot less than it would be on the outside and I'm grateful for that!

I don't have a problem with this either. Like most military retirees I went on to another career and now am retired from that also. The active duty guy is still on his first career. I have no problem paying what my active duty counter part would be paying since my two retirements, PLUS Social Security, means I probably have a higher income now than the active duty guy. Plus the active duty guy is still out there on the front line keeping me safe.
