I have no problem with the way MCG charges. It is still a great deal vs private/fed/state campgrounds. From what I see the MCG rates are well under what others charge.

Well, that all depends on what it was and the cost
A military golf course. It costs less than an off installation course, but that isn’t the issue.
Not really, my retirement as an officer is considerably more than an enlisted retiree's would be, so it seems reasonable to pay a little more.
Rank difference is not the basis of my objection. It’s the pay difference between you and your AD counterpart - regardless of rank. It seems reasonable that if the fee policy is discounted based on income, officer higher - enlisted lower, GS13 higher – GS3 lower, then certainly a retiree, enlisted or officer, might expect to be considered for some lower rate, too.
Like most military retirees I went on to another career and now am retired from that also.
The fee chart is not based on what was done after military retirement. Would there be an objection if they put military people in the highest sponsored guest cost category just because they could afford it? Perhaps, including retirees who have more than one income.
I have no problem paying what my active duty counter part would be paying since my two retirements, PLUS Social Security, means I probably have a higher income now than the active duty guy.
If the retired EM were in the same monetary position as you, should he then be charged above his pay grade instead of getting a rank break?
I know of no other installation facility that charges based on rank. Not the CG, the commissary, bowling alley, movie theater, TLF lodging, etc. Outside venues don’t do it either. One’s basic phone service is the same whether you are a CEO or a carpenter.
What’s so special about a golf course? There’s no special treatment or advantage for any rank. It’s the same piece of ground for everyone and divots are created equally regardless of rank or ability to pay.
If there is anyone who would not at least mildly object to these two concepts, which are the essence of all rank based fees, then I’ll shut up and set down:
1-Your status gives the assumption that you have more so we’re going to take more.
2-Even tho you have a pop-up camper without need of utilities, we're going to charge you more for the campsite because of your higher rank.

First of all I have been on several bases that have a graduated fee based on rank for several different venues. I have absolutely no problem with it. If the AD gets a break I'm all for it. I try not to look at it like Im getting a screwed. I try to look at it like I'm getting a good deal and its ok if someone else gets a better deal.
SkyK8 don't know if your gonna get as good as a response as your dog thread but nice try anyway..
