It's not my plan to "Cheat" if I can do it legally, I will, otherwise, we'll ship to Alaska - we are planning on an Alaska trip and across the USA first, or maybe across Canada first, either crossing border at Niagara Falls, or at Washington - not sure yet. But want to get this hand-gun situation resolved first...
We won't "hide them" and hope - we'll get a permit, or ship them.
The link provided by another post is very informative. Seems that one can carry shotguns and rifles if traveling through Canada to AK. Shotugns make a great defensive weapon and would be my preferred home invasion deterrant. Must remember that hiding a weapon is risky business. Police work dogs can be trained to find guns. If I can carry a shotgun then I would just check my pocket gun at the gate and get my permit to carry a shotgun and let the good times roll.
