Anybody up for a road trip?
Meet up at Pensacola, Florida
A couple of days in New Orleans
Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas
A week in southern Arizona at Tucson
A week in northern Arizona near Flagstaff
A couple of days touring Zion and Bryce National Parks in Utah
An R&R stop for a couple of days in Vegas!
Yosemite National Park in California
Terrorize Larry for a couple of days in the Tahoe National Forest (LOL)
Glacier National Park
Yellowstone / Grand Teton
Cody, Wyoming and Big Horn National Forest
Rapid City, South Dakota (Mt Rushmore, Badlands, Custer SP, etc)
Cheyenne, Wyoming
Head back east to Mammoth Cave, Kentucky....break up from there
We plan on leaving Florida around the end of May and getting up to the mountain areas in June, hopefully avoiding any bad weather. We'll be back east around the end of July. We're all retirees and a pretty fun bunch if I say so myself (well, Monkey44 seems to like us! )
So if you've always wanted to take a trip out West, but were leery about traveling alone that far, here's your chance! So far, there's four of going, two couples, two singles. If you can't make the whole trip but would like to join us for a part of the trip, that's good too....we're flexible.
We'll have to know before the end of the year if anybody wants to join us. Four of us can probably go and make reservations along the way, but any more than that and we'll have to do a little more structured traveling.... especially with reservations in the more "touristy" areas.
Let me know if you're interested, either by replying to this thread or sending me a PM if you're shy!

But, am not a 'Passport America' camper, so will skip around when that happens. Tho' based on what I saw at the Fort the other day, M44 Rig can fit nicely inside the storage area in some of those Rigs that are making this tour, so I can just 'hide out' at those PA sites ...

We're sitting in Benson, AZ for the winter, but as you get closer to your trip, drop me a line and I'll see if I can't help out with some suggestions on camping. We've been to a lot of the places on your list -- or close to them. Sounds like a great trip and you'll have a ball!
We'll do that little thing Mustang! Maybe if you're in the area we can meet up somewhere....we have another retired Marine with us, so we won't hold that against you!

A YES here ... part of it anyway, am trying to get out of here (Kings Bay - JAX area) by March and heading west again ... so will probably join in and drop out at different times during these months.

We'll hook you up to the back of Rich's Land Cruiser and pretend you're a Toad! :woohoo:

I'm looking forward to your visit. I hope I can "dish it out" as much as I can take it.
Feel free to post your trip itinerary on the website so others can meet up along your route.
