Just wanted to remind everyone that Lowe's and The Home Depot offer a year-round, 10 percent discount, up to a $500 maximum, at U.S. stores to all active duty military personnel, reservists, retired or disabled veterans and
their immediate families. Customers requesting the discount should present a valid military ID.
I've been using Lowes, but just found out The Home Depot has been offering this also.
thanks Raymond

Menards matched this for a few months this year, but then dropped it.

We have gotten in the habit of asking just about anyplace we eat or shop or camp if they offer a military discount and have been surprised how many times we get a yes, usually 10%. I think sometimes they do not want to say no so they give it to us as a display of respect. Some campgrounds will give you 15% better than Good Sam of 10% so does not hurt to ask, all they can do is say sorry we do not.

Checkers/oriellys, autozone offer 10%, pepboys does but only on certain days. Napa also may depending where they are located.

Wife complains in this economy that he stores may be huring and the discount is not that big a deal. I generally wait till I have a big bill, then it mainly covers the taxes.

I take advantage of the Lowe's and Home Depot discounts whenever I can. Figure they can use my business and every little bit helps...both of us.

I rarely wear a hat but was cold in Richmond VA so slapped on a US Army Ret hat. Could not believe the response this got! Unasked for discounts, nice words, etc., everywhere from people of all ages. A clerk at Bed Bath Beyond asked where I had served and I listed them, including VN. He said: "Wow! My Dad was in VN...I'm using my employee card to give you the employee prices on your purchases!"
