Great news. It’s been reported that Lake City Florida has reversed the RV Parking Ban. . Norm Payne from Livingston, Texas posted the following on RV.net:
Lake City, FL (Posted Feb 03, 2011 07:45 am)
“The Observer learned early Wednesday evening that the RV no parking issue at the Lake City Wal-Mart, which has gone viral on the net and done nothing more than cause ill will for Lake City and Columbia County, is soon to be gone with the wind. A call to Wendell Johnson, Lake City’s straight talking City Manager, confirmed the tip was soon to become a reality and the signs at Wal-Mart are going to be coming down. (03:40 pm - The Observer has learned that at approximately 11:20 am today the City Manager announced the signs were down)”
Personally I'll still bypass EZ Stop RV Park in Lake City and I hope the city leadership is looking for a new member for their Tourist Development Board because the owner of EZ Stop RV Park, as a member, did not serve the City well. Columbia County Observer posted a couple of other posts about the ban, including that it was reported on Fox News. Here's the link to the Observer: Columbia County Observer Thank you Lake City Reporter for your coverage and reporting on our response to the ban. Thank you Lake City for listening. Thank you RVers for expressing yourself.

I will not forget that the owner of E-Z Stop RV Park was the one that pushed the parking ban for his own gain. He'll never gain a dollar from me.
