3.6% SS COLA was created by stanbnv
Just wondering if we will get a similar raise in our retirement. I seem to remember that retired raises are tied to SS raises but you know how memories are.

yes, you also get a raise in retirement pay, and if you drawing any kind of
VA compensation that will also be raised at 3.6%. However, Medicare part
B goes up this year, haven't quite figured out what that will be.

The only thing wrong with being retired is that you never get a day off!

Thank God for small favors but for those of us turning 65 shortly as am I what a hit it will be to have to pay Part B for the first time. Started collecting SS at 62 so got used to the full amount each month. Paying Medicare Part B is a lot more than paying the premium for TriCare Prime and the small copay I had for MD visits, makes you realize what a great benefit it was while it lasted. A good example of how great TriCare Prime was when I had open heart surgery for mitral valve repair and a scare of pancreatic cancer at the same time my hospital bill (no MD's) was over $250,000 and I only had a small copay for the 18 days I was in the hospital, I doubt many private health insurance plans would have paid as much. I never received a bill for any other charges from the hospital or MD's, amazing.
