The golf course club house at McDill has or did have SOS for breakfast. Wasn't half bad, always had it for breakfast.

Air Force? SOS? Eggs Benedict maybe But maybe they had some TACP bubbas on base and that would explain it.

The only thing wrong with being retired is that you never get a day off!

On the Air Force menu it's referred to as "Merde sur des Galets."

We had SOS in the AF, too. Have to say it is one of my favorites. Going to the chow hall at o'dark thirty after pulling a mid and eating a bunch of SOS was pure heaven.
I too, searched for the recipe, but came up empty-handed. After a bunch of trial and error, I pretty much came up with the one melbin mentioned. A good twist is to use a pound of jimmy dean sage (or maple) sausage instead of the hamburger.
When my kids come home for a visit, they always request Dad's SOS.
Another favorite request is Mongolian BBQ. I have the recipe for that, too. I think I got it from Fairchild, but can't remember. It's not really a recipe as it is an ingredients list.
