Our occupancy starts to go down this time of year. We are busy on weekends but usual have a full hookup or two available most times. During the week we are about 3/4 full. We always have over flow sites available just across from the beach. No hookup but great location.

We will stay about 50% occupancy from about 1 December until the weather warms up.

Right now the saltwater fishing is peaking so we have a lot of fishermen here fishing the Intercoastal Waterway or surf fishing right here in the recreation center.

I look forward to meeting you,

Curt

Warms up?? So is NC not warm this time of year, and through the winter, at least enough so I don't worry about freeze-up?? I thought Virginia this winter, but get info that's not warm enough for me ... I've been wintering in Georgia and Florida the past five or six years, but want to stay a little more north this season because I'll be back and forth to Cape Cod a few times. I like to think gas prices don't effect my travels, but I'd be wrong to say I don't consider it more now than in the past.

Our winters are normally mild with a few days of freezing temperatures. Our proximity to the ocean helps keep temperatures moderate. Today, it is the temperature is 74 and sunny. For the next ten days the highs will be in the 60s and 70s with lows in the 50s at night.

You might want to look at weather.com to see what it is typically like down here. The water stays turned on in the campground year round.

Hope this helps,

Curt

Monkey> Be aware that I have never had Dish. I've been a customer of DirectTV for several years and am satisfied. I've watch fellow RV'ers setting up a Dish system. It appears to a bit more cumbersome and time consuming than Direct. One reason might be that, as opposed to Dish, they have to find a satelliete based on three variables - asmuth, elevation and skew. With DirectTV, one only has to lock in azmith and elevation.

Reception between the two is not an issue. If you can get one you can get the other.

Yes, normal AC voltage is a requirement be it from a HU, generator, or inverter. But then your TV requires it too, so that's not abnormal.

But 12v TV do exist ??? is that correct -- or is that a thing of the past?? just a Q of course, out of curiosity.

And we can go from 12v to inverter (converter) and to TV?? although I don't know how effective that is, or how fast it drains batteries. Not that I'm thinking about that, but just wonder about the technology and how fast things change.

I actually don't do TV much, but when I want it, then that's it, I'd like to have the choice ...

I used our TV (26" VIZIO) and the dish one night for over 6 hours on the inverter. We have 2 6 volt batteries that are probably over 10 years old. We did not loose any signal and still had power the next day before I started off and was able to recharge the batteries by driving.
This is just for info about how they worded.
