I als agree 100% with JJnLilly. Homesteaders take over where they are allowed. It's not right.

Now if only our efforts to change it was a reality. We have taken the position that from now on we will not use the homestead FamCamps unless we have no other choice. As for homesteaders taking over; have to agree with that also as they have the mindset the rules do not apply to them.

On a stay at Uchee Creek, Fort Benning a few years ago, I asked one on the hosts' how long are you allowed to stay here. He replied "We'll never kick you out". I've been there at least a dozen times and have always gotten a campsite.

RV means Recreational Vehicle (period)and FamCamp means Family Camp. think of those soldiers who has been deloyed and wants to take some family time and enjoy an FamCamp but they can't because some Homesteaders hog sites for 30 days to 5 YEARS and and Veteran who is a first time visitor of a certain base or post, this is wrong to those who need some time off with their families and fellow veterans. If you haven't seen all you need to see in a specific area in 30 days in your RECREATIONAL VEHICLE well then it time to get an apartment or move on and come back, RVs are meant to comfortably travel leisurely from place to place not setup residence, so enjoy the RV and see America and let those diesel and gasoline horses run and be free and be a retired or fulltime tourist and tell others of your travel stories of America.
