I'll throw another horseshoe into the ring. We live in Brooksville, Fl. which is in Hernando County and it is also very popular horse country. Several horse farms near us that board and I would think maybe not as much cost to board as Ocala. Some ads I saw are $300.00 a month and some $500.00 depending on what kind of boarding you are looking for, stall or pasture seems to make a difference. I googled horse boarding in Brooksville, Fl. and WOW did many sites come up. We are about 1 hour away from MacDill AFB so it would be a nice drive into the country to visit your much loved four legged friend. I have no knowledge of horses and boarding but thought maybe you could use another option for Florida if this is your choice.
