No..
Do the math.. if you retired in 1993 with 20 "good years" you would have been a minimum of 37 years old at the time. Now in 2016, 23 years later you would be 60 years old and would have been issued (or about to be) a retirees blue ID.

Additionally, if you were eligible you would know all of the above.

Thanks for the replies. Army first (Viet Nam Vet) then ARNG. 3 more months left in 2016, so thanks for that info too.

I just found this site. Based on your response, I don't think I am eligible. I am going to travel for two years. Any other advice?

Thanks,

Lynda

To save a couple of bucks while traveling, the old folks National Parks Pass qualifies you for 1/2 price camping in many National Parks, Forrest Service and COE campgrounds. Look into a relatively inexpensive Passport America membership, which is also 1/2 price camping in participating campgrounds subject to various restrictions. Also look into a resale Thousand Trails membership or one of their Zone memberships. If you use their campgrounds it can be a good deal. All of these have pluses and minuses so do some research.

Husband (National Guard retiree) and I just concluded a trip to Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington. No problems staying at their campground.
