jsummers, ain't Kings Bay a great place? It was our first base stop ever for RV'ing. In 1/05 heading to KW. Could not get the wife to leave. She loved it, till it turned to cold.
She loved the gate guards and I had a suspicion that they were former military.
I think she like them because of how polite and formal they were. After going through the gate on one occasion she said to me "He called you petty OFFICER"
That meant a lot as she had no experience with the military. Secound wife and I was forced to retire out on a medical years ago.
Now she only wants to RV at military CG"S which suits me just fine.
She absolutely loves the respect that we give each other and that we are a part of the military family.
Next time I am at Kings Bay I will be sure to pass it up about the gate guards.

Notwithstanding the old joke about donuts and cops, but a box of those can be shared by all guards on duty. Again, tell them it came from an RVer.
