Number of pets allowed

I travel with two inside cats and one dog. When campgrounds limit # of pets to two, am I really restricted as my cats don't go outside. Thanks.

Don't tell...I can't think of anyplace I've been where the inside cat police patrol..Animals that have to go outside are another thing...Just remember "don't ask don't tell"

We used to travel with 4 inside cats and never travelled with dogs and if any private or military campground said 2 maximum pets that is how many we said we had. The campgrounds should ask the question "how many pets do you take outside your RV", that would be more appropriate? When you come right down to it what does it really matter how many you have inside or out as long as they are taken care of and the owners are responsible for them. Have been at camprounds where just 1 dog is inside/outside and barks constantly and then others have more than 1 dog inside/outside and you never hear a peep out of them. Our last cat passed away two months ago and for now we have decided to remain petless, we will see how long that lasts, my wife tells me.

I see there are going to be different definitions and levels of integrity with this one.

Who's going to say,"..what, those? Those aren't pets, they're groceries and considered a delicacy in many parts of the world". Or, "No, those aren't dogs, they are early warning systems"....come on folks, let's hear some excuses or "dodges" that you've used.

We travel with 4 small dogs. We usually ask ahead of time, but if we are in a park with 2 or 3 dog limit, we walk 2 at a time or the wife and I take 2 each and go in different directions. Never have had an issue with it.

We travel with two inside cats and have only had a problem once with pet rules. At Hart Ranch, SD, when asked about pets I responded with "None" because they don't go outside and after years of being told that if they were inside pets it didn't matter. On the second day there was a note on our door -- we had to move to the pet section. Not that I really cared where we were parked, but I asked anyway "How come? They stay inside."

This is a quote. "Your pets shed dander inside the motorhome and the dander could leak out of the motorhome and contaminate the site and if a camper with pet allergies stayed in that site they could have an allergic reaction."

I guess the bottom line is that the answer will vary depending on the rules of the campground and the managements' attitude.
