Regarding your questions abu what Parks to use; this Military campground site is the best resource around. Up to date reviews by people just like you & I. For other campgrounds, I use www.rvparkreviews.com . This has also been very helpful. Nothing will take the shine off this lifestyle than parking at some dump of an RV park.

thank you roger and bonnie ! everybodys recent responses have been very helpful. i didnt know there was so many people doing this . it makes me feel better about this whole thing to know that total strangers are so helpful! i cant wait to meet people in the campgrounds to find out more as well. one queation though how do you do banking on the road? or do you just use plastic?

We make use of Direct Deposit for incoming $. We use a "cash back" credit card for everything we can. Other payments are set up to be automatic or; we use a Verizon Air Card" so we have access to the internet, and then go on-line to make payments.

Another item to consider is mail. We use a service called St. Brendan's Isle ( www.sbimailservice.com ) but there are others. We contact them whenever we need mail and they send it that day (after throwing away the junk) to whatever address we provide. Their mail forwarding service also provides us with a Florida address which has tax advantages for us.

thank you for info. do you know much about osprey cove in mayport. they have extended stay for up to 6 months at a time. my husband found it and i would like to find out more about it.its on mayport naval station. we have called them and seen some pictures but nothing compares to visiting there. and thank you again for all your help and imput.

WE drove to Osprey Cove while staying 6 weeks in JAX. We didn't look at the area where extended stay folks were. The main area looked nice, super gathering room, and it appeared they had some organized social functions (at least around Xmas). A great Park just north of there is Kings Bay GA. rated best Park. No ocean view but a nice lake.
