It is very easy to make assumptions on what camp hosts should be doing without knowing what the specific duties actually are. Curt

I want to start this off with my previous comment "I am absolutely not being negative on hosting, but I suspect if MWR had to pay the host, there would be a reduction in the number."

In a five day period, the lack of any host activity, even when one knocks on their RV door, is some indication that the performance isn't very good. But then that is only one sample out of hundreds of hosts in the system. Three hosts in a 33 site CG appears unusual, but we aren't doing the job.

We have always gotten lots of compliments from campers on how well we do the hosting. We have also gotten complaints from those who are just venting their frustrations. If one can't understand that normal human behavior, then they should reconsider being a host. But as the old saying goes "it only takes one aw crap to wipe out a bunch of atta boys." Nonetheless, at the end of the day, I feel satisfaction from doing the job well.

Curt, it appears that you are underpaid.

Well, I signed the contract and have no complaints. The location 200 yards from the ocean in one direction and 200 yards from the Intercoastal Waterway in the other direction makes it a pretty sweet gig.

I really enjoy the people I work with and our visitors. Most of the visitors are repeat guests so it is a very pleasant constantly changing neighborhood.
