I am a new member and a 100% Viet Nam Combat wounded Vet. I have not applied for a pass card yet. The fact that civilians can tramp on and abuse privileges EARNED by us just pisses me off! I remember when Hillary Clinton wanted to use the VA hospital system for welfare people.
Let me understand this, a discharged combat vet can't get a RV pass card unless he is 100% disabled but for example an anti USA Wall street protester who never served could if he just passes a background check. Why is the base commander allowing this travesty?

I understand they are trying to keep the place funded but I don't agree with allowing anyone with a camper to pull in and stay particularly if it prevents those who have earned it from staying there. At the very least if a non-mil is going to be allowed in then if a qualified mil-members comes in then the non-mil should be moved regardless of day/night/weekend/whenever. The problem with that is when the non-mil member is out and about and can't be found for hours.

CCNAS isn't the only installation that allow non-military civilians. At least this place runs security checks on non-military types or they say they do anyway. Some of the other places permit non-mil in on space available with no checks.bobcor wrote: Why is the base commander allowing this travesty?

So, instead of letting 50/60/70% etc. DAV use the facility, they let the general public.....don't you just love being """blanked""" on again......

I just sent J. Cornyn US SENATE my thoughts on this, urge you all to do the same. If they are concerned about revenue, then open it up to DAV 10-90 rather than the general public.
