There's been other complaints and issues with security aggressively checking RV's at Vandenberg AFB. Read the reviews for this campground to see what others have said.

I've posted our experience in the ratings. Same as yours. Go in the little holding cell and hope they don'tpocket something while they search. We won't go to Vandenberg again. Never had such treatment.

Not that it has anything to do with this search but a couple of years ago when going into Canada through a checkpoint in NY about 0900 AM we were searched throughly also. The same as you we were told to unlock every outside door and leave them open and to go inside a room and couldn't come out or go to the bathroom for almost 2 hrs. Couldn't go back to the RV for any reason either. It might just be the way they were taught to do it.

When it it comes to Security. Be it on a Military base, Airport or whereever. I never blame those that have to do the security check. I curse those bastards from the land of sand that brought us to this point. And everyone knows what I mean.
One other point is that those that complain about security will be the first ones that complain about it not being tight enough when the bomb goes off.
I have nothing to hide. Please check my rig and everyone elses. I like feeling safe.

I agree security is a must, the issue is being treated with respect. I have nothing to hide either.

At abt that same time the Navy was conducting a nationwide security exercise that was well advertised. We got a very thorough shakedown at Mayport, similar to the process that you went through. I don't know if USAF was also playing in the exercise. It went on in earnest for abt 5 days. At Mayport all of the RVer's were issued special passes so we could get through the gates. No other non essential people were allowed in. Even with the pass we got the shakedown I mentioned.
