Ellsworth?
Headed to Ellsworth AFB in a few days but how to get on base and to the FAMCAMP seems to be an issue??? Website says "all rv's MUST use the commercial gate", but when I called the guy(host?) said do NOT use the commercial gate...those directions are WRONG!
When I look at Google Maps, it appears you can get off the interstate onto the old hwy(it's south of and runs parellel to the interstate) and go east to S. Ellsworth St., make a left(north), go onto the base to Lincoln St, turn right and the FAMCAMP is on your right(just after the turn onto Lincoln).
Is this correct? Can I get on base with a 35ft motorhome(towing) this way?
If anyone knows, please advise ASAP!
Thanks,
Jim

If someone finds out the correct and current gate for RVs's to use, please let me know. This was a BIG issue with them last year. They INSISTED the base commander ONLY wanted RV's to use the commercial gate. But the police were allowing RV's to use the main gate. Eventually, they turned RV's away form the main gate. But things always change. Let me know the current policy.seadog wrote: Hi,

Talked to Amy and she advised the following:
-Off I-90, take exit 67B(Liberty Blvd) and continue to the 4-way stop
-Turn right at 4-way stop onto N Ellsworth and follow it to the Patriot Gate
-Go in gate, turn right on Lincoln Rd/Co Rd 223, FAMCAMP is to your right
She said security has agreed to let RV's through any gate, not just the commercial gate.

Is high water pressure still a problem at Ellsworth AFB? I only have the little straight-line "flow restrictor" type regulator, maybe I need a better one if the pressure is still real high.
Thanks,
Jim
