Does anyone have any recent information on the Fam Camps at Seward? Were not into fishing, vistas, peace and quite, with some elec and water.
Thanks

If you're not into fishing, vistas, peace and quiet, why are you going??? Sorry, sorry, couldn't resist!
Seward itself has several 'tourist' opportunitites that make it worth the drive. Many of them are in the Toursaver Coupon book which has been mentioned several times. What is expensive for two becomes reasonable with the 2-for-1 coupons.
There is an excellent wildlife center, numerous interesting shops, and the NPS maintains a park for Exit Glacier that is worth the short drive. There are a couple of boat tours of Resurrection Bay that are very good. We saw everything from puffins to whales on one tour. (We don't fish either, but if you want to try it, we saw several military charters come back staggering under the loads of fish they caught.)
You get better views from the Air Force campground, if you don't mind it's, ah, 'rustic' flavor. When we were there, a young bear frequently hung out around the clubhouse and fish-cleaning area. The Army operation was much more upscale but back in the trees so you didn't get the views out the front window. Both had W/E hookup. Or you can boondock on the water in the city campground sans hookups for the best view. (Info is 2006). All-in-all, well worth the drive.

We are getting close to starting our Alaska adventures. We will be in Great Falls, MT by May 20th and plan to head to Alaska on June 1 or 2. Drop us an email if you would like to caravan along with us. Thanks to everyone who has offered suggestion and information from previous trips. We are really looking forward to the trip.
