Easy check in, on other site of lake from RV sites. sites good size and level, some trees. New laundry room but no washers or dryers, had to go off post to do laundry in Fallbrook, CA . Good T-Mobil cell phone . Camp wifi ok. Gas station on Vandergrift rd. easy in/out. Gas station by Commissary looks hard . did not try. ( gas was .40 cents a gallon cheaper than off post.) No fenced in dog park. ...
Nice park well maintained, friendly staff, one of the niced FamCamp we have visited and great rates.
This is no longer a military campground it is open to the public, rates are higher then listed, I paid $150 for 4 nights. (Editors Note: This is still a military operated campground, but it is open to the public.)
Nice Gravel and grass PARKING LOT, my site was 4 inches out of level from rear to front, there was 13 feet between my rv and the next one and my neighbor's sewer hookup was 10 feet from my door. Nice playground but goose poop was all over could not walk on the grass without stepping in it. Would not stay there again. Staff was nice and friendly.
Stayed in July 2014, Have a dog and there was no problem, sites are close together and not level 3" out from front to back, some sites have utilities on the correct side and some sites have electric on the wrong side. Staff friendly and helpful, free laundry. Quietest Military base I have ever been on. Would stay again if in MT. Rate is a little high but cheap for Montana has the highest prices of any state I have...
Location to Washington DC is great, location of famcamp on Andrews no so good, right next to a busy highway. Camp site nothing special, laundry room has 2 washers and 2 dryers, one doesn't work. Restrooms usable but not what I call clean.. Water extremely colored with rust or dirt, not fit to drink. Price great for east coast, no reason to stay longer than necessary for touring DC. Ask office for Senior Fare cards for METRO.
Had to stay in overflow, had electric and water. It is farther to the beach than I thought it would be from the web site. Beach is public, People running the camp store are nice but don't know how to manage the computer for the camping sites. Over priced for what is there, we moved to (Onslow Beach Campsites and Recreation Area) much nicer and a better value for the money with private military beach. Used the ferry from Southport...
Great place to stay in Savannah, What a deal FHU for $12 a night. Cable company is blocking some channels only got about 15 channels, Don't have bathrooms but don't really need one I got an RV. Herschel was a great host with all the info and a great personalty, Recommend reservation there are only a few spaces, stop by and enjoy.
Great place to stay while visiting Ft. Benning. Poor water pressure at times, no water pressure because they filled the pool, no one told us in advance that they would be no water. Seem like it would have been to much trouble. Most sites are nice some need some work like cutting weeds around utility pedestal. Over priced compared to other FamCamps. Laundry room could use some cleaning and organization. Stayed in site # 3 - terrible Verizon phone service....
Clean and Quiet campground, nice space between rigs, free WIFI and Cable TV. Verizon 3G works well also. nice laundry room and only .75 a load. Will stay again when in the area..
This place is really nice, The staff is friendly and helpful. Ft Sam is a mess with all the construction but the camp is clean, quiet, and has FHU, their policy of only staying 30 days is great, no homesteaders and every one get a chance to use the camp. Highly recommend this FamCamp for anyone coming to SA. Used Verizon 3G for internet and Dish for TV, both worked good.
Great central location to down town and tourist things. But the grass is dead, weeds not mowed, staff friendly, site host is in last RV spot so you have to go thru the whole park to get to him. nice golf course but I don't golf so who cares. Sites are too close together not wide enough some too short, Internet spotty but Verizon G3 works well . $27.00 a night is expense even for CA, stayed at some nice...
Really nice and quiet place, Billeting staff was nice and friendly. If using Garim GPS with down loaded Famcamp POI's ..it will take you to prison instead of campground, when you get to prison entrance just continue up the road till you get to Camp San Luis Obispo. Really enjoyed this place.
Right on the Beach great view, but the park is basically a parking lot and the rates are now $30.00 a night. Could be a truly great place with some upgrade work.
We stayed here from 31 Mar-6 Apr 2010. You need to make reservations this place stays full. Really nice and quiet, bathrooms are clean. Close to the commissary and even the grocery stores down town are inexpensive. Lots of museum and other stuff to do here. When coming down Hwy 90 take East gate entrance because of Main gate construction. Will stay here again when in the area.
The sites are really small had room for the slides but the awning was over the next parking spot. They have had a rate increase to $18.50 a night for full hookups. Some Passport America sites are cheaper.. I guess it OK for a few night while you tour Memphis, but no place to spend any quality time..
