So sorry to hear about the accident. I hope your wife isn't in a lot of pain.

We took our boat down last October and stayed in a townhouse. The weather was still very warm. We stayed on the water all day and were comfortable going out in the evenings. We did not see any overflow in the campground at thaf time.

I do want to weigh in on the stacks. We camped in a small travel trailer with no capability to run an A/C at night. For a couple of nights, we had to put up with the fumes from a motor home next door until the mandatory shutoff time of 11:00 pm. I would have really appreciated it if they had a stack. I was glad when they pulled out.

Buy an Venturi up-stack! They are less than $140, collapsible, store in an included bag, and don't take up much room in the basement storage. On the way, we stop at Larry and Penny Thompson campground . It is a County park CG, not far off the interstate, with FHU and 50A service. Overnighting there and leaving about 8AM gets you into Sigsbee about 2-3PM.
Yes the AFEES fuel station on Sigsbee has diesel, a separate pump on the back-side of the driveway. IF you have dual fill points it's easy. If you only have a driver-side fill point you must enter the 2nd drive(entering Sigsbee) and do some tight turning. I filled up entering and exiting Sigsbee, and when returning to dry camping so I would always have diesel for running the generator when it gets hot weather.

The wife is now well, the stars are aligned and the SCUBA gear is packed. We leave for Sigsbee on 9/27 and should arrive on 10/1. We plan on staying at Ft. Bragg and NSB Kings Bay on the way down. Does anyone have any last minute suggestions or advice?

Bill

Bill if you've never stayed at Naval Station Mayport, I'd stop there for a few days on the way south. If you stop in Homestead, a lot of folks stop for the night at the Indian Casino but it's pretty hot this time of year. I'd look for a campground. We stayed in a Passport America park. Enjoy Sigsbee

The best shore dive in Floida is Blue Heron Bridge at Riviera Beach. Jonathon Dickinson State Park is a short drive away and very nice. Its worth a stop if you can get a space.
