Sigsbe in April

We go to Fort Myers Beach each year at the end of April. Some years we go through "clouds" of Love Bugs and other years not so much.

I'm planning my actual driving days and it looks as if I'll need a place to stop for an overnight somewhere between Palm Beach and Homestead. I'll be traveling with my wife and 2 dogs and towing a Jeep Liberty. I'm not sure whether I'll be on the turnpike or on I95 at this point but remember them being close together.

I'll appreciate any suggestions you may have.

We spend the night at the Miccosukee Casino . Very nice folks and no problems spending a free night in the far parking lot. We joined their players club and got two free buffets and $60 to play on the slots. We walked away with almost $100 ahead. They also currently have a good $10 steak and lobster dinner.

We spent one night there on the way down to the Keys and two nights on the return trip back.

We love Casino camping and always use them when we can. Usually free camping and, of course there is always that buffet :woohoo:
BTW, there is a really great web site that will tell you all about casinos and the ability to stop and "camp", which we use a lot!

Like the original poster we're planning our first trip to Key West for the last two weeks in April. I'm hoping that the high occupancy and need to rotate might be over. I've gathered all my info from this site. Anybody there now to give an update on the rotation?

Not sure about the numbers in dry; but it is really clearing out! We are looking at 11 days in dry before going full again. That will probably drop for the next round since many people in full depart at the end of their 2 weeks or sooner. I'll get you exact numbers in a day or so...

BTW - there is a SMART Rolling Rally coming here in April which will impact the situation; and, they will close Trumbo sometime in April and make those folks move to Sigsbee to consolidate resources.
