Thanks a lot for all your suggestions. We have made reservations for Feb and March at Greentree Village RV Park,

which is very near to Ft. Sam Houston. We will spend part of this winter looking around the great state of Texas and possibly find places to stay next year. Thanks again for your help.

You might also check out NAS Kingsville, they have a small, quiet campground, with both FHU and W/E. It has a small commissary and NEX, and the town of Kingsville is quite cute. There's also a large WalMart Super Center and the King Ranch.

hi
may want to try the almo koa. rates are cheaper than lackland and have free wifi. Its about 3 miles from sam houston and I stayed there for 2 months. You can always go out of san houston cg for a day or two if necessary and rebook for another 30 days.

never been there but have heard that the FamCamp at Lackland AFB in San Antonio is very nice. Also, Blanco State Park, about 30 miles north on Hwy 281, is absolutely beautiful and CLEAN!!! There are also a couple of very nice private parks in Boerne on I-10.
