Got reservation confirmed. She told me with my size of tv. She will have me on 13 or 15. They are the only two sites on that side of the road that it will fit, unless I wanted next to dumpster. She said this was where the former was at.

Those sites are nice ones. I have been on both of them because they used to be the camp host sites. In fact I was on 15 for two years and 13 for one year.

Actually, next to the dumpster is not exactly right on top of it. There is plenty of room between that space for RV to turn around. That space is also ideal for watching boat traffic on the ICW. WiFi is FREE and EXCELLENT. Cable TV has plenty of channels. Enjoy your stay. You won't be disappointed.

We have reservations for third week in July. Really looking forward to the trip. Is the beach still divided into officer, senior NCO and enlisted sections, as discussed approximately four years ago? If yes, is there a section for "all ranks"?

Was thru Onslow Beach in late February.. the beach is still set up (in USMC fashion).. Enlisted, SNCO and Officer.. (really it's Officer, Enlisted then SNCO.. the E's are in the middle for a reason) there is a public area (if not being used for training) South of the SNCO section at the pier. I believe that I saw an E-9 rental or two up in the North end - Officer Country..

IMHO The Marines have the least fraternization of the services, it's their culture.

I'm a USMC Brat (1st and 2nd grade at Camp Lejeune) and a USN retiree so I should be used to it but I'm still a little surprised by all of the military courtesys that I receive when visiting (Note below) and must make a conscious retiree effort to address Marines by title (Officers by title or sir) as the occasion arises.

Note: I have a blue base sticker, I'll get saluted by Marines walking thru the Exchange parking lot.. see paragraph #3 of thwe following..

thanks Sandman for the excellent reply and attachment explaining customs and traditions for Marines. Well written! I can remember it being similar with my Branch when I was active. Also, I can vaguely remember being a young "E" and sometimes probably needing to be put in the middle. Ha! Only recently married I'll need to "educate" my wife on customs with different services and how we should/shall accept. Again, thanks!
