I guess I should not complain becaquse at 66 my health is great....I was totally amazed today as I called to Army HOspital in EL PAso to get an appointment and was informed that the only way I get one now is to go to the Emergency room and get a referral or have the VA refer me. Hmmmm.. Wonder where I have been when all this took place. Have never been to a civilian doctor. AM I correct that I call a doctor, have a visit, they bill medicare and then Tri Care???? DO I have to change tricare regions when we go on the road for three or four months at a time???? I am a newbee at this. :woohoo:

If you have medicare part A & B and tri-care-for life you can pick and choose where you want to go, anywhere in the good old USA.

p.s. Always ask the provider if they accept both.

It's my understanding your assigned a region based on your home of record. I have Tri Care for life. It's accepted almost everywhere. I also travel and it's very functional. Medicare is billed and they automatically send everything over to Tri'care.

TriCare for Life works great. We originally were based at Ft Gordon, GA. We now live in Florida and I have yet to lay out even one penny for medical care. Medicare and TriCare for Life pay for everything. However, you must have Medicare Part B in order to get tricare for life. Good luck.

OK,
New to tricare for life, just became elligable.
I noticed that there is an annual dedcutable for Medicare of $135.00 Is that for each person or for the family. Also who gets it? Do I pay Medicare when I use it??
Thanks
