Tricare Prime is what I am talking about. There is no cost for standard as you know.

If you are 100% disabled and on SS, you are required to have Medicare Parts A & B or Tricare can refuse to pay. I'm paying a penalty for the rest of my life to SS for not knowing that.

I was on Tricare STD (no cost)and when I approached the 65 thingee I received my Medicare card about three months before I hit 65. It was all automatic, except I had to renew my Military ID card. (This updated DEERS) My social security check went down the same month I turned 65 to pay for Medicare Parts A & B. My wife (a few years younger) will remain on Tricare STD until she reaches 65.
