Handle??

The first part, Mike is my first name then the cfr is the old fire department acronym Crash Fire Rescue. Now it's called ARFF. I usually go by smokey which is my handle for most of my other computer uses. I retired with 33 years in the Wisconsin Air National Guard as the fire chief. I also retired with 22 years with the city of Madison, Wisconsin fire department so smokey or mikecfr is appropriate.

Sue because that is the shortened version of my name of course. glassart is my hobby. My handle has nothing to do with my military time as a machinist mate in the Navy. My husbands handle is pianodan and even though he retired from the Navy as a Boiler Technician his handle is based on the fact that he tunes pianos now ,after retirement ,and his name is Dan.

dcricket because in Junior High I walked by the Principals office and chirrupped like a little cricket and it has stuck to this day...the d is just indicative of my first name - Donna
I don't have a CB and am still trying to decide whether or not I want to. But if I do, I'm sure I'll be referred to as cricket too. chirrup chirrup

I LOVE this thread! I see hundreds of "handles" a day using this website and I become curious. It's interesting to see why you call yourself as you do. I sure am boring with just my name.

Too bad Larry -- but if you changed your name, no one would know you -- ha, may not be a bad thing!!

Why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself and we'll come up with a handle for you -- like a contest or a poll. Might be good to make a heading called "Larry's Handle" and then once you give us some history, we can all pick a new handle and then all vote on the best one -- or you pick the one you like -- should take it out of this thread though, so it doesn't confuse the flow of this discussion ... maybe run it for a month and then vote -- give everyone a chance to see it. M44, thanks for the idea - but I'll remain simple. If I (we) changed my "handle", I'd get confused!
