Monkee,
Also, I think that the price is for the Cube only, not the receiver. May be wrong, been wrong before. Maybe someone can jump in here and let us know.

The receiver ? The service provider does the receiver - right?? Or is this another piece you need to buy besides the "dish component" ...
Correct me here: Once you have a television unit ...
We each buy a dish or the Cube, and cable to get inside the RV ... then, you sign up for a service that supplies a receiver for the signal (Dish or DirecTV receiver) then you buy the service each month for whatever package you chose ... is that accurate?

YEP, they got you. That is why you don't see to many Vue Cubes. All you really need is the dish, and that is about $30.00. The Receiver comes with the package from which ever network you subscribe to, usually with a two year commitment.
You may want to look at this link www.solidsignal.com/ and just buy the receiver and a dish then you can subscribe to the network on a month to month basis ( at least that is the way I understand it).

So, you buy dish and receiver, and can quit anytime. OR, you can buy dish, and get (free?) receiver from the signal company and lock in for two years.
But as I see it, if you buy one receiver, then you gotta buy that signal company? or do these receivers take any signal company?
I think I grew up in the wrong era -- we didn't get worried about all these 'expensive' choices -- we just put up rabbit ears and watched three channels, part-timed in a tent, and the Dodgers played in Brooklyn ...

The only thing wrong with being retired is that you never get a day off!

Don't know if this discussion is still on-going, but for anyone who's interested in the Vu Cube RV Blog Net has a nice video on it from Camping World. Here's the link:
