So, for an $800 (or less) TV Cube, you can get satellite TV for the monthly fee anywhere you have power?? IS this also a 12v system, or does it require 120v ??

Check out this link to vind more info on Vu Cube:

www.campingworld.com/video/vuqube/index.cfm

It is from Camping World. By the way the model with the feet & handle sells for $699 & about $50 less w/o handle & feet.

I checked the truckers internet sites have it for around the same price.

From what I see it gets it's power from the receiver. It sure seems like a good deal.

Does look like a good item -- but with this tech stuff, I always want to hear from folks that actually use it, and not the AD pages of course.

Sound like some here have it an like it -- can anyone, everyone that has used this Cube chime in here with good and bad ...

Here's a quote from a friend who posted his initial impressions on another forum:

As promised, I'd make a posting of my results using Vu Qube. It arrived today.
It's compact and ready to plug in. I connected one end of the 50' cable to the
Vu Qube and the other to my external sat. input of the coach. I placed the Vu
Qube with a view of the Southern sky, as directed.

The remote is compact and even comes with batteries installed. I turned on the
satellite receiver to see what elevation to set. I did so, on the remote, and
then scanned left or right to find the satellite. The whole thing took just a
few minutes.

There's another small difference between the V10 (non-portable) version and the portable version. Besides the portable version having a handle and feet, it also has a small antenna inside for the remote signal and the remote sends a stronger signal. Price has come down in the last few months by about $40. Still too much for my blood.

Not sure about this, but it seems to me -- without actually buying one yet -- that the satellite packages are a couple thousand bucks, at least for a good one. So this is quite a bit less, unless I'm mistaken. I'm getting ready to begin pretty much part-time and full-time within the next year or less. And one of my priorities to to get a good TV set-up so I can watch my home-town local sports -- so this is an important topic to me personally. I'm not very "tech smart" -- so look to all you RV buddies to help me here -- I'll probably become a PITA about this before it's over ...

I'm less concerned about cost as effectiveness, up to a point, and don't want the $5000 do everything packages. But, this TV Cube looks very good to me for the cost, provided it really does what it says ... some of the problems we all have is that something says one thing, but in applications somehow the salesman says "OH, we didn't know you meant that, and that." AFTER we buy something.

Even though I'm usually pretty clear about what I want -- salesmen are salesmen !!
