What works for us is to move south for the winter. I know, I know... not everyone enjoys the fulltiming lifestyle. I was just being mean. :

If a person finds a method that works for them, stick to it.

Larry> Funny comment that's more true than mean, but one needs to go pretty far south to have faith in not winterizing however minimal that may be.
As I see this issue, one can go with loads of anti-freeze or not. Like OldChief, I also prefer not to. Who wants to comtaminate their rig with a chemcial regardless of the advertised safety issues??? Would you do that in your home?
One can drain and blow out the lines or if time permits, open all valves and let nature eliminate the condisation. Add a minimum amount of anti-freeze to the P-traps or unscrew them and dump the water- whichever is convenient.
BTW, I lived in SC for 6 years and adhered to this same regiment...no anti-freeze.

SkyKing, with the correct amount of brown liquor mixed with your water, you can take that nasty taste right away. Then again, why ruin the whiskey with the water?

I forgot to mention, be careful when you use this technique with children or dogs. If you have a fire going, be aware that the ever shrinking circles they start running in will eventually end in the fire. At least I always got close to falling in the fire after a day of "flushing" my water system. :
