Winterizing

I have no idea what you are meaning. We have had a rubber roof and heard all kinds of problems, but never a "sand trail"
Rubber Roofs should not be painted (I did and regreat it big time). There is nothing wrong with discoloring (black showing through). They should be cleand with a MILD soap and SOFT brush a couple times a year. I hose mine off a couple times a year, especially when around trees, etc.
Yes they sell special paint and cleaners, but still the mfgr says they are not needed. Call the mfgr and talk straight to them.

This year, in Oct, I blew out all lines; kitchen and bathroom sinks, outside and inside showers, toilet. All very easy with adapter, my small tire pump, being careful not to exceed 55 PSI. Then, pull up bottom bunk to access water heater bypass valve. Closed valve and put about four gallons of RV anti-freeze into fresh water tank (probably could have only used two gallons for entire system). Turned on demand activated water pump and opened all water lines. On-demand pump pumped anti-freezed throught all lines and let run long enough to full all "P" traps. Closed all water lines and turned off on-demand pump. Wala! Winterization done.
The simplest process I know of! All total maybe a thirty minute procedure and I was taking my time since it was my first time doing all of this. I'd recommend even in SC to winterize, a gallon of RV anti-freeze is $4-$5 and the time is nothing to complete the process. Good luck.

I pretty much did the same thing this past week but did without the anti-freeze. It takes me less than 30 minutes to winterize my coach including emptying the hot water tank and blowing out the lines. This is our third coach since 1997 and I've never used anti-freeze. If you get all the water out there is not need for anti-freeze. (I do put anti-freeze in the drain traps and in the toilet bowl.) With our schedule we currently figure the coach is stored for the winter but you never know. Without the anti-freeze in the system we are ready to go at a moments notice. If we do get a reason to use the coach we just jump in it and go. Re-winterize it when we return. We did have to live it in, in our driveway, for a week last December when we lost power at the house due to a major ice storm. Was glad I didn't have to mess with cleaning out any anti-freeze in the water lines. My brother uses the anti-freeze meathod and it takes him much longer to get ready to go somewhere than it does us.

I emptied the city tank of water, added 4 gallons antifreeze. I then turned on the pump and spigots, captured and dumped the residual water in the lines until the antifreeze came out.

Old Chief, we just finished a Thanksgiving weekend of camping and it didn't take any time to flush the anti-freeze from my water lines. And we didn't have much residual taste, just flushed the lines.
If a person finds a method that works for them, stick to it. Techniques vary, not breaking water lines, ice makers, etc is the principle.
